ACCESS

Achieving Community Change through Education, Support and Sustainability

benefiting 97,660 individuals

The Achieving Community Change through Education, Support and Sustainability (ACCESS) project targets a total of 97,660 individuals through water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and education activities designed to support underserved communities.

WASH interventions (including network, high tank and borehole rehabilitation, as well as the provision of pumps and solar systems) will result in more convenient access to greater amounts of water, reducing the need for water trucking and thus freeing up family budgets for other vital needs.

Education activities protect 2,060 vulnerable children and teachers against harsh winter conditions by providing schools damaged by the conflict with new doors; windows; heaters and disability accessible, gender segregated WASH facilities. Additionally, ACCESS provides nonformal education programs to help children return to and remain in school.

The ACCESS project is being implemented from November 15, 2023 to November 14, 2024 in Rural Damascus and Deir ez-Zor. This project is supported by the Syria Humanitarian Fund.
