COPE 2024

Creating Opportunities for People in Emergencies

benefiting 8,500 individuals

For 2024, the Creating Opportunities for People in Emergencies (COPE) project offers long-term support to 8,500 individuals affected by the 2023 earthquake which hit northern Syria. The project consists of several activities focusing on improving peoples’ livelihoods on a long-term scale, to compliment short-term emergency efforts of other projects.

Activities include the following: small business management and specialized business training, provision of small business grants, multipurpose cash grants, repairing damaged schools, providing remedial classes and national exam support for children who’ve fallen behind in school or are out of school, teacher trainings, school kit distribution, raising nutrition and hygiene awareness and more.

Implemented from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024, COPE 2024 works in the Aleppo, Hama, Homs, Lattakia and Rural Damascus governates. The project is funded by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) in collaboration with ADRA Denmark.
