Provision of Education and Restoration of Learning Spaces
benefiting 1,275 individuals
ADRA initiated Phase II of the Provision of Education and Restoration of Learning Spaces (PEARLS II) project with the aim to improve the access and quality of formal and non-formal education opportunities in severely conflict-affected areas in Rural Damascus. The project provides essential Education in Emergencies (EiE) assistance to highly vulnerable children and teachers, targeting 1,275 school aged boys and girls, assisting their access to formal education through the rehabilitation of 25 damaged classrooms, as well as encouraging retention in formal education for children at high risk of dropping out through the provision of remedial classes, school kits and supplies for 400 children. In addition, the project improves the quality of the education in the formal system through training a total of 50 teachers from the target schools and areas. Funded by ADRA International, the second phase of the project is being implemented from April 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024.
